This is what I am fighting for:
No one in Illinois should go bankrupt just because they got sick.
From pre-K to college and vocational training, Illinois children deserve the best.
The people of Illinois need real investments in jobs, new business start-ups, existing business support and expansion, and we must bring the needed infrastructure to our communities to support growth.
Illinois needs to extend existing public transportation to connect people and businesses with new opportunities. Airport expansion is needed to support the movement of cargo and passenger traffic. Illinois sits at the intersection of a Quad-State area.
The people of Illinois need safe communities not just through policing, but through prevention, access to mental healthcare, and access to new opportunities.
Illinois needs their children to grow up breathing clean air and drinking clean water, regardless of their zip code.
My Plan For Housing Justice:
Through supporting local developers, non-profits, and faith-based organizations in building affordable and mixed-income housing, particularly in underserved areas like South Shore, Harvey, Dolton, Dixmoor, Paxton, Rantoul, Roseland, and many others in the 2nd Congressional District of Illinois.
Through the use of HUD-certified agencies and partners.
By championing federal down payment assistance programs for first-time buyers, especially those in historically redlined neighborhoods.
Through stronger enforcement of the Community Reinvestment Act.
By pushing for federal investment in permanent supportive housing and services to help those facing housing insecurity, especially veterans, and youth.
